Big fans of the fantasy genre, the Integrity Toys designers didn’t want to tackle this timeless duo in the same way it’s been done in the past. So, who’s the Beauty and who’s the Beast? We asked Integrity Toys’ Alain Tremblay to fill us in on the details!

Haute Doll: Why Beauty and the Beast?
Alain Tremblay: With the Nu.Fantasy collection, our designers take inspiration from classic fairytales that everyone has loved and cherished since their childhoods. But because we like to do things our own way, we always do them with a twist! Beauty and the Beast offers so many possibilities — swapping the roles around made perfect sense to us!

HD: So the girl is the “Beast” and the boy is the “Beauty”?
Tremblay: Exactly! Our “Beast” is not hideous, as the original fairytale dictates, and isn’t a traditional monster — rather, she’s a fashion beast! She’s absolutely gorgeous and wears couture! She simply subdued “beauty” with her style and edgy demeanor. It all makes perfect sense to us! She’s the predator in this case, and he’s the hunted.

HD: With all the dolls released in the Nu.Fantasy collection so far, Integrity Toys has had characters from its other doll lines take on the Nu.Fantasy roles. Who did you cast for this edgy duo?
Tremblay: Actually, these are some of our personal favorite head sculpts! “Beast” features a sculpt we introduced recently that is making its first appearance in our regular lines (on the updated FR2 body), and the role of “Beauty” features the Lukas Maverick sculpt on the current FR: Homme body.

HD: Can you give us some details about the edition sizes and release dates? Will these be available through Integrity Toys dealers?
Tremblay: Yes, these will be available through our network of authorized dealers. Both dolls are done in a limited edition size of only 800 dolls each and should be available for delivery in late November/early December. They are, however, available for pre-order immediately on the release of this magazine, so everyone should call their dealers right away if they are interested!
