Life at a small publishing company can get very hectic with a zillion things to do and far too few minutes in a day. And in the midst of the mayhem, at times I seem to lose touch with the dolls, with my job becoming about everything else and not them. So, I love it when they pull me back.
Today, for instance, I was in the final few hours before deadline, checking one last time for a wayward comma or missing article or misspelled word, when a full-page photo of a Linda Valentino Michel doll captured my attention and drew me in. The editing stopped for a few seconds and I just took in the details of the doll. In the article, Valentino Michel states she “believes in the magic of dolls.” I’ve decided, during moments like that, I do, too.
