Purchasing a reborn doll as a gift led to a career that has spanned more than a decade for reborn artist Debby Brooks. She began finishing and selling reborn dolls in 2008 and has won several awards for her realistic babies.
She’s exploring new techniques and mediums this year as she continues to reborn “the newest arrivals for 2020, including preemies, newborns, toddlers, and even enchanted creatures,” Brooks said. “I will focus on capturing their personalities and uniqueness while using the best products around.
“Some of my new designs for this year will include the mini reborn toddlers, as well as cuddle babies to comfort dementia patients,” Brooks said. “I am also pursuing the art of hair painting to add another dimension to my art. I always want to keep learning and to pursue the art of excellence! Eventually, I intend to paint and create silicone reborns, for the realism and challenge. “My inspiration comes from God, who gave me the talent to create these special dolls. And I thank the doll collectors who treat their dolls with care and affection, as if they were real children. I love bringing them joy!”
