Texan artist Autumn Bellar entered the Dolls Awards of Excellence for the first time in 2021 and came away with an Industry’s Choice Award in the One-of-a-Kind Fantasy category for her Ladybug Fairy. Now living and going to school in South Carolina, Bellar said she’s relatively new to the dollmaking world.

“I made my first doll a couple of years ago, and I was immediately hooked! I have been having a great time experimenting with materials, and each doll is a huge learning experience. I’m mainly interested in making fantasy dolls, especially fairies, monsters, and witches.

“As I continue, I’m going to keep improving my sculpting and photography, and find my own unique style. My biggest goal is to sculpt and cast my own posable doll base!”
