The central figure in Hey Diddle Diddle is a 22-inch polymer-clay sculpt. The puppets are fully functional marionettes which can be removed from the doll’s posable hands.
Doll artist Linda Ehrenfried has been making her one-of-a-kind (OOAK) dolls since 2008. She’s best known for her fantasy creations, which run the gamut from delicate fairies and mermaids to sturdy trolls and goblins, along with wizards, witches, and more. She was one of the Industry’s Choice award winners in the 2019 Dolls Awards of Excellence. The Maryland native has been hard at work this year coming up with new creations, including the three recently completed projects shown here.
Octomomma is a 14-inch polymer-clay sculpt over a metal armature. Her babies are safe in their abalone-shell nest, and the base and accessories incorporate wood, shells, pebbles, and foliage. “The clay I used is Cosclay, and the body is very flexible and durable,” Ehrenfried said. “Her head is articulated so her gaze can be directed toward the viewer.”
Elfling Princess Winter stands 28 inches and is sculpted from polymer clay over a metal armature with synthetic hair. Her outfit and accessories are made from vintage fabrics, faux pearls, sequins, crystals, and costume jewelry.
