Rain or shine, collectors photographed their dolls enjoying the spring season and took the opportunity to share the captured moments with DOLLS.

Amy J. Finney’s dolls are ready for April showers! From left to right are: Hannah Wiggins (Hearth Song), Learn & Play (catalog), It’s Raining (Madame Alexander), Pin-Up Gene in Rain Song (Mel Odom/Ashton-Drake), dc-319 Creatable World (Mattel), American Child Dewees Cochran reproduction (Effanbee), Lizzy Griffiths from Disney’s Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue (JAKKS Pacific), Gwen and Hallie from the Hopscotch Hill School line (Pleasant Co.), My Life As Camp Counselor (Cititoy for Walmart), blond and redhead Gregors (Sasha), and Tiny and Trudy paper dolls by Kathy Lawrence (repaired and reproduced).
“This is a vintage Tommy Toodles,” Lynn Burns said. “He was manufactured in the 1960s by American Character Dolls. His clothing is a vintage infant outfit from the 1960s. He is in our backyard enjoying and smelling the first of the spring flowers. I think he may have picked a few also!”
“Spring is in the air with two of Robert Tonner’s 12-inch dolls, Anne Fitzpatrick and Hermione Granger, as they pose prettily in their sweet spring dresses and shoes from the Virtual Doll Convention,” Kathleen Gauger said.
“When I think of spring, the first doll that comes to mind is Amaya Springtime by Marie Osmond and sculpted by Sonja Bryer,” Janice Wassmuth said. On Amaya’s right is Kayci, a Li’l Dreamer #2 sculpted by Dianna Effner; Tessa Marie by Brenda Mize is on her left.
Gabriella Smith’s doll enjoys the warm sunlight as she collects bunches of daisies.
“A modified Mui-chan Winter Story doll from Pop Mart/IxDoll visits the beach in Westport, Washington,” Jane Easterly said.
Emily Mannlein said, “Shiloh (Truly Me 42) greets the spring with a Kirsten-inspired modern outfit. She wears a Cabbage Patch dress with American Girl riding pants, and a crown of daisies from a Claire’s headband.”
“My Monica of Hollywood was produced by Monica Studios between 1941 and 1951 only,” Linda Rous said. “She is composition and all original. This is the only doll ever patented to have human rooted hair in a compo head.”
Emi, a Chitose Pear Smart Doll belonging to Witty’s Craft Corner, runs through the spring rain.
Sarah Richardson said, “Muffy, a custom Blythe by MPDsCreations, loves frolicking through the open fields, filled with wildflowers and bunnies. Won’t you come and play with her too?”
Kylie, dressed in Culture Japan clothes, is Kyle Poole’s Smart Doll Anime Fortitude. Poole said, “She is enjoying a night out at Lake Sumpter Landing.”
Futura Rossi said, “Yoru is a Smart Doll Divergence from Danny Choo’s Culture Japan. Her skin tone is called black navy, and she has cyber markings in gold all over her body. Her wig is from Dallas Dolls Co., her shoes from CJ, but her knitted dress and leggings were handmade by me. She’s in the garden enjoying a mild and gentle winter sunset among the daisies, a timid first glimpse of spring.”
Jasmine Marshall said, “Lyric is getting ready for spring by going for walks with his mom! He’s made by Mandy Marks of Chrysalis Dolls. Lyric is wearing a Gap outfit including the hat and shoes from Carter’s.”
“This is Smart Doll Me, Myself & I (Pear body) in the coffee skin tone. She is ready for spring, holding an early dandelion,” Barbara Nessinger said, adding, “The company is Culture Japan, and the creator is Danny Choo. She is wearing Smart Doll jeans and a sweater from The Doll Clothier on Etsy. Her wig is from Zazou Custom Dolls.”
Barbara Haring said, “This is my Little Darling Greer Adele winning the title of Princess at her school’s Spring Fling. Her face-up was done by Magalie Dawson. I created her outfit using Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabric and a pattern by Petite Princess Designs.”
