A shared love of dolls and creativity is the driving force uniting the Meadow Dolls team: Miroslava Brodlova, her daughter Mjusi, and Charlene Smith, who represents the company in the U.S. and uses her skills as a face-up artist on Meadow Dolls ball-jointed dolls (BJDs).

The prolific design team of Miroslava and Mjusi have been keeping busy over the past year, with plenty of new releases to please their fans. “Last year with COVID, we were in the position to send the factory a lot of work to carry them through,” Miroslava Brodlova said, “so we have lots of dolls ready to release and rest of the year is filling up fast already!”

One of Meadow Dolls’ newer designs is 21-inch Masha, the second sculpt in the company’s LL Dolls size. Her sculpt is the result of an inspiration contest on the Meadow Dolls Fan Club Facebook page. She’s based on a real child from Russia whose picture was entered into the contest. Brodlova said it took two years to get the doll ready to make her debut.

Meadow Dolls’ Chibbi BJDs are similar in size (about 7.6 inches tall) to other dollmakers’ BJDs, Brodlova said, “like Ododo-doll, Holala, Mzzmdolls, and so many more. There are so many clothes for this size, and Chibbis sit easily in one’s hands.”

Meadow Dolls in the works include three Chibbi-size (about 7.6 inches) dolls, a new 11-inch Dumpling, Cocco, which will be introduced at the Modern Doll Collectors Convention, and a new Moppet size (15 inches) BJD — “such a fun size for everyone to work with!” Brodlova added. “There are also a new 21-inch and a new travel-sized doll we will name Sprouts, but they are top secret at this time.
