Join this week long intensive with internationally recognized artist, Kate Church, who created a cast of character dolls for Cirque du Soleil that have sold around the world. Kate’s work has appeared in chosen fine art galleries, national magazines, and special exhibits.

In this five day workshop you will learn the techniques Kate personally uses to build her sculptural figures using polymer clay, cloth, and wire construction. You will create two sculptures.

Choose a horse, bird, or rabbit approximately 15” tall as your major piece of the workshop. You will create a wire and fabric armature to animate your work then combine paint, found objects, polymer, fabrics, or collage to embellish your work of art.

In the second part of the class you will be creating a figure to ride or lead or perhaps dance … with your fantasy critter.
