DOLLS: What offerings do you have at your store?
Geanie Litzman: Our store offers new and preloved dolls and accessories — complete dolls, replacement parts (bodies, heads), clothing, jewelry (branded and OOAK), shoes, and stands. We carry primarily products for 11-to-12-inch fashion dolls, such as Barbie, Monster High, Bratz, and Integrity Toys. We are working to add items for other scale dolls.
DOLLS: Do you offer identification and appraisal services?
Litzman: We do not offer identification and appraisal services.
DOLLS: How do you ensure the dolls you sell are authentic?
Litzman: The dolls we sell are typically marked. Any dolls that are not marked are described as such.

DOLLS: Who are the intended buyers of your products?
Litzman: Our buyers are collectors, customizers, and creators. Our products have various price ranges, from $2 to $300. Collectors usually purchase items to complete dolls, replace bodies, or add items for play and/or display. Customizers and creators purchase bodies and heads from us for various projects.
DOLLS: How did you first get started in doll sales?
Litzman: I’m a collector. In the course of collecting, I would purchase large lots, like 20 to 30 dolls, just for one or two dolls. So, I ended up having a massive number of dolls that I didn’t need or want. My husband said, “You can’t purchase any more dolls until you sell some of these others.” I started selling on eBay and then noticed the trends of our buyers, which allowed us to target our items to our buyers.

DOLLS: Have you had any particularly memorable sales?
Litzman: We have sold several rarish Monster High and Bratz dolls that were pretty memorable. Monster High doll sales have included the SDCC Robecca Steam and Hexiciah Steam two-pack, the Abbey Collector Doll, and the SDCC Ghostbusters Frankie. For Bratz, we sold a Nighty-Nite Sasha second edition doll, which was memorable because we had no idea of the value at the time.
DOLLS: What do you enjoy most about this line of work?
Litzman: I really like doing research on the various pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessories. I like figuring out what they were from, when they were released, do they have any variants, etc. I also really enjoy making hybrid dolls and offering those to our customers. The best thing is when a customer sends us pictures of their dolls and what they did with them.

DOLLS: If someone wants to learn more about your offerings, what should they do?
Litzman: They can visit our Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest pages (@whowantsthisinc for all), our website, and our eBay store, ebay.com/str/whowantsthisinc.
