When many people envision Brazil, they imagine carnivals, celebrations, sultry summer days, and exciting festive nights. For a lot of folks, the allure of Brazil is steeped in a sophistication that is both cosmopolitan and tropical. It’s the perfect blend of urban escapism and lush landscapes. It’s a bucket list travel destination that promises unexpected delights.
For doll entrepreneur Eraldo Antonio Realli Silva, the proprietor of Antonio Realli Couture, the multifaceted personality of his homeland is evident in his clothing, which embraces the pulse and the heartbeat of Rio de Janeiro. His fashions, designed for both female and male dolls, embody his own unique style, as well as a nod to the youthful and playful clothing choices that surround him.
Discussing his daily influences, Antonio Realli is articulate and specific: “I prefer to capture the movement of what’s happening around me and turn that into creations that reflect what I’d love to see dolls wearing in my collections. I’ve always been driven by a personal and intuitive perspective, seeking to express a style I find authentic. Interestingly, before fully immersing myself in the doll world, I had a sewing atelier where I created dresses for brides, graduates, and special events.”
Hailing from a background where he was interacting with living, breathing customers, he has an undeniable ability to make his doll “clients” look alive and exquisite. He said, “My sewing atelier focused on formal wear, which gave me direct experience with fashion for real people. Later, I founded my own men’s beachwear brand, which further expanded my experience in the fashion market. Working with real bodies, clients who wear and move in the clothes, has taught me how to be practically and purposefully a perfectionist, always striving to combine beauty and functionality. With my beachwear business, I also learned to be more objective and to better understand what the public wants. All of this carries over into my work with dolls, where I try to maintain a balance between creative expression and meaningful connection with those who consume what I create.”
A true doll aficionado, Antonio Realli is well aware of what dolls he likes to collect and which ones complement his carefully curated and constructed outfits. He has a discerning eye for which doll line is best suited to his ensembles and said, “My creations fit dolls from several brands. The list is long, but my favorites include Ficondoll, Fashion Royalty, Kingdom Doll, Tonner Doll, and Barbie. In fact, I enjoy creating for all of them. I often receive special requests for dolls I don’t have in my collection, and whenever possible, I do my best to fulfill them. Within my limits, I try to embrace as many models and brands as I can because I believe fashion can adapt to different proportions, styles, and aesthetics. This flexibility allows me to engage with a very diverse collector base, which is something I deeply value.”
The collectors who flock to purchase his couture lines are drawn to his innovative versatility and his empathetic nature. It is a potent combo. “I believe what attracts collectors to my work is the combination of personal identity and attentive listening,” Antonio Realli said. “I create pieces that I would personally love to see on my dolls, pouring into them my eye, my taste, and my style. At the same time, I’m always open to dialogue with those who follow my work. Many ideas come from conversations with collectors and close friends whose requests and suggestions often get adapted and included in new collections. This constant exchange makes the process more alive, authentic, and connected to those who truly love this universe.”
The male dolls are especially reflective of his innate appreciation of casual comfort and relaxed, modern styling — but even his most sporty clothing creations have a spark of uniqueness and individuality: “I’ve always worked as an entrepreneur and have stayed connected to the world of art, which has given me the freedom to be myself and dress in ways that make me feel good. This autonomy has always guided my choices in life and in design. I think it brings a natural realism to the pieces. Streetwear and urban fashion are part of my visual and personal repertoire, so it’s only natural they show up in my collections.”
That same undeniable sense of realism is on full display in Antonio Realli’s clothing for female dolls. His outfits epitomize a woman’s life — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. His ensembles offer the perfect option for every activity and lifestyle, from the boardroom to the ballroom, and everywhere in between! “That’s exactly how I see my creations. I think of the pieces as extensions of a full lifestyle, imagining what I would like to see dolls wearing at different moments of the day, whether it’s for work, a glamorous event, or a festive night out. The collections are born from that idea, with looks that accompany the routine, desires, and personality of each character I create. I like to think there’s a concept for every style and every moment.”

The Man Behind the Models
Eraldo Antonio Realli Silva is the personification of energy and drive. In addition to his well-received Antonio Realli Couture doll line, he is the founder and CEO of Specialkey Wear, a men’s beachwear brand. “Designing for dolls is a passion, a creative escape, which I love deeply, but I still treat it as a more personal and artisanal project. That’s why I’m very selective and cautious when it comes to accepting new opportunities in this space. My production for fashion dolls is quite limited, usually no more than 10 to 20 pieces per look.”
The very busy designer made time to give DOLLS magazine a glimpse into what makes him tick and why.
DOLLS: Did you study the practical arts or fine arts in school?
Antonio Realli: I am completely self-taught. Over time, I sought to improve my skills through free courses and technical studies, but I believe that the sensitivity to fashion and the arts is something you’re born with. This gift needs to be refined throughout life with practice, curiosity, and dedication. My mother played a major role in this process. As a home seamstress, she introduced me to the basics of sewing and taught me the importance of care in every detail — something I carry into everything I create today.
DOLLS: How long have you been in the doll world?
AR: I officially began working in the doll world in 2014, when I started selling my creations in a more structured and professional way. Since then, I’ve been continuously evolving, trying to blend my personal taste with my audience’s preferences. I’ve learned that being a fashion artist for dolls goes far beyond aesthetics. It’s about understanding desires, translating emotions into miniatures, and creating pieces that move people.
DOLLS: Do you have anything new that you want to share with your fans? Any new lines for the end of 2025 or the start of 2026?
AR: I have several new pieces planned for 2025. Some are already being sketched, and I’m currently researching fabrics, but it’s still in the early stages. Since I’ve just released a new collection, my focus is on fulfilling current orders before diving into the next creative phase. Even so, I can say that new things are always on the way. Sometimes it takes a bit longer, especially when the demand from the previous collection is high, but I’m always creating and developing something fresh to share with those who follow my work.
DOLLS: Is there anything you want to add that we haven’t touched on?
AR: Yes, I’d like to highlight some designers whom I consider true references in the fashion doll universe. Names like Cholo Ayuyao, Shantommo (Ryan Liang), Salvador López Arriaga, Shuii Medina, and Ginny Liezert, among many others that don’t come to mind at the moment. These are artists I deeply admire. Each one of them in their own way is an inspiring example of professionalism and dedication.
They show that it’s possible to turn a passion for fashion and dolls into serious, consistent, and high-level artisanal work. I follow their journeys with pride because they help elevate the standard of our segment and reinforce the artistic value of this niche.
Recognizing and valuing these professionals is essential not only as a tribute but also as encouragement for new talents who wish to follow this path with authenticity and courage. Naturally, there are many other equally admirable and influential artists, but they escape my memory right now simply because there are so many.
