Q: I was absolutely thrilled to see in the November/December issue of DOLLS magazine that in your column you featured the stunning World Doll of Alexis Carrington Colby. You mentioned that you were a huge fan of the show Dynasty and so was I! I had never heard of this doll but because of your column, I was also able to procure the matching Krystle Carrington doll of Linda Evans. Please tell me more about her.
I think I recognize her outfit from the show as well. Thank you for bringing these dolls to my attention.
A: You are most welcome, and I have gotten several emails regarding the Alexis doll. Congratulations on getting the Krystle Carrington doll. You are right that the outfit was one worn by Linda Evans in the show — it was designed by Nolan Miller, and in 1984, he won an Emmy for outstanding costume designer.
Like Alexis, Krystle is 18 inches tall and all vinyl. She has rooted hair and molded-on shoes. World Doll made Krystle in 1985 only.
To give some background on Evans, she appeared in the 1965 film Beach Blanket Bingo with Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. That same year, she took on the role of Audra Barkley in the television show The Big Valley, which ran for four seasons. But she is most famous for playing Krystle Carrington in the hit television show Dynasty. She appeared on the show from 1981 to 1989. In 1982, she won the best actress Emmy.

World Doll did an amazing job with these two dolls. I feel they are priceless to someone who collects memorabilia from the television show Dynasty, as well as collectors of celebrity dolls.
Values vary greatly depending on where the doll is sold. Some sales are in the $50 range, making this a great time to purchase these dolls. Like all celebrity dolls, they capture moments that many of us fondly remember.
