Modern Doll Collectors Convention a Success

I know I’ve been quiet for far too long. It’s been a crazy-busy stretch for me, but things are starting to sort of quiet down until IDEX. The last show DOLLS attended was the Modern Doll Collectors Convention held in mid-October in Albuquerque, N.M. A fun, diverse and incredibly organized event, a great time was had by all.

Among many great events was the Fashion Doll Runway, where costumers to dressed “Ellowyne Wilde” using the theme, Elllowyne’s Enchanted Adventure. Thirteen exquisitely dressed dolls were “escorted” down the runway to the joy of all and auction off. The auction raised $5,000 for the Carie Tingley Hospital, which is associated with the University of New Mexico Medial Center.

Friday night, DOLLS held its DOLLS Awards of Excellence presentation. In addition to announcing this year's winners, India Thybulle, who has worked for DOLLS for 21 years, was honored with the Crystal Award for Industry Leadership.

Full coverage (video and print) is coming in the February issue of DOLLS. Get a sneak peek of some pics here.
