I was a member of the steering committee so I had lots of behind-the-scenes tasks, but I must say, I SMILED a lot. I also had a booth in the sales room, which was very fun...it seemed that there was always someone to talk to, a story to hear, a doll to deliver to a new owner. I also liked that the conference committe put together an Artist Showcase. This was a wonderful separate sales area that just featured current artists and their work.  Talk about talent in the room! We saw beautiful porcelain creations by Marie Massey, fabulous cloth by Christine Shively, fun ball jointed dolls by Paulette Goodreau...and everything in between.

If you haven't been to a show or conference lately (or ever), think seriously about it.  The friendships formed last a lifetime.

P.S.  I'm posting the doll that I entered for the 'Dolls that Make You Smile' exhibit.  I love her wonderful body so much that I never have dressed her!
