It's always worth celebrating when a handsome, dashing male doll is sculpted. So often, the male dolls have a "too pretty" look about them. They seem like female dolls garbed in men's attire, sporting facial hair and masculine haircuts, but still something womanly lurks beneath. It's odd--they have all the physical trappings but something "manly" is missing. This new crop of male dolls is very realistic: their faces capture the likenesses of the leading men actors and something beyond that. Carie is right--they seem to embody masculinity. It's great that artist dolls and fashion dolls can now boast some matinee idols: it's always a treat to have the male ideal just a display case away. - Stephanie F.
